Amit Mantri
Runs one concentrated, cap-agnostic value book, and has since 2016. Governance comes first — 2Point2 flagged accounting problems at Manpasand Beverages more than two years before its management was arrested for fraud.
Is Amit worth your time?
A value manager with a documented governance edge. 2Point2 runs one concentrated, cap-agnostic value strategy and has done since 2016 — a rare single-strategy focus. Its best-known public call, flagging accounting problems at Manpasand Beverages in December 2016, pre-dated the company's fraud arrests by roughly two and a half years — the kind of process evidence a returns table cannot show. A point to weigh: it is a two-partner firm, so key-person dependence is real.
Investors with a genuine 7–10 year horizon who want a concentrated, governance-first value book as a counterweight to growth and momentum holdings — and who can sit through a weak year without switching.
- Key-person concentration: 2Point2 is a two-partner firm built around Amit Mantri and Savi Jain.
- The fee schedule is not publicly disclosed — ask for it in writing before you commit.
- A single, concentrated strategy means limited diversification across styles.
About Amit Mantri
Amit Mantri is a co-founder and fund manager at 2Point2 Capital Advisors LLP, a SEBI-registered portfolio manager based in Mumbai (SEBI PMS registration INP000005190). He co-founded the firm in 2016 with Savi Jain, a fellow IIT Kharagpur alumnus; together they run 2Point2's single flagship strategy, the Long Term Value Fund.
He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and a post-graduate diploma in management from IIM Bangalore, and is a CFA charterholder. Before founding 2Point2 he worked across public-market and private-equity investing — as a vice-president at the Mumbai long/short hedge fund Hornbill Capital, and earlier in the private-equity teams at IDFC Alternatives and Zephyr Peacock, where he also served as an alternate director of 20 Cube Logistics.

Four principles
Buy below intrinsic value
Purchases are made at a discount to an estimate of intrinsic value, building in a margin of safety in the Graham–Buffett–Munger tradition.
Governance as a primary screen
Corporate governance is a first-order filter, not an afterthought — Mantri has argued it deserves far more scrutiny in India's promoter-controlled markets.
Concentrated and cap-agnostic
One flagship strategy holds a concentrated book of high-quality listed businesses, chosen for quality rather than index representation.
Willing to hold cash
Valuation discipline lets the strategy hold cash rather than force capital into an expensive market.
The call that shows the method working
The Manpasand call — flagging fraud years before the arrests
In December 2016, 2Point2 published ‘The Curious Case of Manpasand Beverages’, laying out accounting red flags at the listed company. Roughly two and a half years later, in 2019, Manpasand's management was arrested for fraud. The call is a matter of public record — the kind of process evidence a returns table cannot show.
